NSW MILITARY SERVICE RIFLE

LEVER ACTION MATCHES

Rules:  These matches are shot in accordance with the rules listed in the 2004 CSD National rule book. 

Rifle:                 - Any Lever Action rifle issued to military/service forces,

                        - Built up or faithfully reproduced rifles and parts acceptable within spirit,

                        - In Military/Service calibre. 

Target Types:               - SSAA Military 4x4 Type C,

or         - Appendix 2 600mm.

                        or         - 2x2 half size 4x4 Type C target          as per notice. 

Scoring:            As per target values  (e.g.. 4x4 - V, 5, 4, 3, 2 ,1).

Score/count “V” ring hits to break tied scores as 5.1. 

Match 13 Range Match

Distance:          50m, 100m, 150m (or other selected distances). 

Ammunition:     30 rounds (or as advised). 

Positions:          Standing, Sitting/Kneeling & Prone. 

Procedure:        50m - Fire 10 rounds from Off-Hand position in 2minutes, 

100m - Fire 10 rounds from Sitting/Kneeling position in 2minutes, 

150m - Fire 10 rounds from Prone position in 2minutes. 

Starting:            Shooters follow the official range commands:

                        (Load, Action, Identify your target, Instant, Fire etc.) 

Match 2Rapid Fire 

Distance:          50m (or other selected distance). 

Ammunition:     2x phases of 5 rounds (or as advised). 

Positions:          Off hand / Standing. 

Timings:            2 x 10sec phases – each phase shot separately. 

Procedure:        Phase 1: - Starting with rifle loaded, action open, 

                        - Butt visible below the elbow at waist height after “Stand By” or “Ready”, 

- On “Fire”, engage 5 rounds from Off-Hand position, 

- Phase 2: Repeat above phase 1.
