RIFLE & PISTOL

2009 “HALL OF FAME” PROGRAM

Note:  This document should be used in conjunction with the HoF user guide for concept outline.

Systems, Categories and Classes of Equipment

This is not a handicap or graded system/scheme.  It is based on shooter ability, and is not dependant on the equipment used.

A “Hall Of Fame” system exists for both Rifle and Pistol as follows:

- Rifle, combining all class A, B, and C rifle (iron sights only) sanctioned matches, events or competitions as advertised,

- Pistol, combining all class 1 & 2 pistol (iron sights only) sanctioned matches, events or competitions as advertised.

Both HoF systems for rifle and pistol run separately and DO NOT combine in any way (i.e. a member of the rifle HoF does not default to being a member of pistol).

Entry – Points System

Entry to either rifle or pistol Halls of Fame is based on a 10-point system.  Shooters accumulate points by participating and finishing in the required positions at NSW state sanctioned matches, events and/or competitions (refer to NSW State Events or discipline calendar), such as the Grand Prix Series etc.  When a shooter accumulates a total of 10 points in rifle and/or pistol, then that shooter becomes inducted into the relevant HoF.

Allocation of points goes to selected sanctioned matches/events by the SDC.  The points available will depend on the size and scale of the matches/events and/or competitions as follows:

Schedule

Both Rifle and Pistol will have points available from each round aggregate for each of the Grand Prix rounds.  Also, points will be available from the annual State Championship for the aggregate of Rifle class A/B/C Championship, and Pistol class 1/2 Championship.

For a list of rifle or pistol matches that carry Hall of Fame Points, refer to the discipline competition structure or the NSW website for the competitor progression table.

Rewards

For any shooter who achieves placement into the Hall of Fame, a recognised patch is available at the expense of the shooter.  The patch has been designed as such to leave space for the name of the Hall of Fame entrant.  Shooters must apply in writing with the necessary funds to the SDC.
