STD RIFLE & CADET/TRAINER

2009 NSW GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES”

Rev: 24/11/2008

ATTENTION ALL LICENSED SHOOTERS

Introduction

Get the cleaning gear out and the ammo loaded!  The 2009 Rifle Grand Prix season is about to start, for the 7th year running. Each and every licensed SSAA member can, and is encouraged to, compete.

How to Participate

Each of the GP series is very easy to become involved in.  Simply follow the discipline calendar and attend as many of the GP rounds as possible.  Each shooters best 2 scores from all contested rounds are added to form an aggregate.  This agg is sorted with other shooters to give each shooter a grand total for the series.  For example, if you attend 3 rifle GP rounds, you drop your worst 1 GP round scores etc…..the more GP rounds you attend, the more scores to choose your best 2 results from.

Rules

The GP Championship Series and each GP Round is shot in accordance with current published National CSD Rulebook as at the time of the series starting.  It is also run under GP particular rules.  These are detailed on the NSW web site which shooters are expected to be familiar with.

Equipment

All classes and specifications of rifle are as per the Discipline Rulebook.  ANY rifle may join in the event for enjoyment, however only rifles in classes A, B or C (Std/As-Issued Iron Sights) which all compete combined, are eligible to contest the rifle and cadet/trainer championship series.  Shooters do not need to use the same rifle at each GP Round - a different rifle may be used over the course of the Series.

Rewards

GP Trophies – per round

Hosts may offer trophies for the GP round, but in some cases, it may be part of an overall event.  This overall event may have aggregate trophies which the GP is part of.

GP Championship Series Trophies

- Class A/B/C Top Guns – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th outright plus Top Junior, and

- Class A/B/C Winners, Runners up and 3rd Place, by grade GM, M, A, B, C, & J.

Grades

The grade a shooter contests each GP Round in is based on their current grade at that time, irrespective if achieved from GP Rounds, club shoots or other.  At the conclusion of the series, each shooter’s final aggregate result will be placed into the achieved grade as at the end of the last round that shooter contested.  So, if a shooter moves up in grade by the end of the last round contested, then that shooters final grade, at that finish point, will be the grade used at the series aggregate conclusion.

Results

Results from all GP rounds will be posted IN FULL on the NSW Web Site, with brief results printed, space permitting, in the NSW newsletter (if approved).  Shooters are asked to frequently check the discipline web site for full series results and details.

Disputes

Disputes of scores at each GP round are handled on the day of the event.  Disputes over aggregate results for the Series must be written (in hard copy format), and in the hands of the SDC by 31st August 2008.  Disputes will go before disputes committee, made up of 1 person from each range hosting a GP round, wherever reasonably possible, for ruling.  Late disputes will not be actioned.

Costs

This Grand Prix Championship Series is free to competitors. Participation is simply attending GP rounds scheduled per the calendar.
