SSAA NSW MILITARY SERVICEPISTOL“2009 NSW GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES” |
|
ATTENTION ALL LICENSED SHOOTERS
Introduction
Get the cleaning gear out and the ammo loaded! The 2009 Pistol Grand Prix season is about to start, for the 6th year running.
Each and every licensed SSAA member can, and is encouraged to, compete.
Each of the GP series is very easy to become involved in. Simply follow the discipline calendar and attend as many of the GP rounds as possible. Each shooters best 2 scores from all contested rounds are added to form an aggregate. This agg is sorted with other shooters to give each shooter a grand total for the series. For example, if you attend 3 pistol GP rounds, you drop your worst 1 GP round scores etc…..the more GP rounds you attend, the more scores to choose your best 2 results from.
The GP Championship Series and each GP Round is shot in accordance with current published National CSD Rulebook as at the time of the series starting. It is also run under GP particular rules. These are detailed on the NSW web site which shooters are expected to be familiar with.
Equipment
All classes and specifications of pistol are as per the National Discipline Rulebook. ANY pistol may join in the event for enjoyment, however only pistols in classes 1 & 2 (Military and Service) which compete combined, are eligible to contest the pistol championship series. Shooters do not need to use the same pistol at each GP Round - a different pistol may be used over the course of the Series.
Info on the matches that make up the Pistol Grand Prix is available from the national rulebook.
- SSAA 3P Core Event match
- SSAA 3 Positional Deliberate 25m match
GP Trophies – per round
Hosts may offer trophies for the GP round, but in some cases, it may be part of an overall event. This overall event may have aggregate trophies which the GP is part of.
GP Championship Series Trophies
- Class 1 & 2 Top Guns – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th outright plus Top Junior.
As the pistol GP series is shot as an open event for class 1 & 2 pistols combined, grading is not required as part of the GP series. However, grading cards must be produced at each GP series, updated and maintained in order to allow you to compete at either State or National Championship events, as these events maybe or will be graded events.
Results from all GP rounds will be posted IN FULL on the NSW Web Site, with brief results printed, space permitting, in the NSW newsletter (if approved). Shooters are asked to frequently check the discipline web site for full series results and details.
Disputes of scores at each GP round are handled on the day of the event. Disputes over aggregate results for the Series must be written (in hard copy format), and in the hands of the SDC by 21st August 2009. Disputes will go before disputes committee, made up of 1 person from each range hosting a GP round, wherever reasonably possible, for ruling. Late disputes will not be actioned.
This Grand Prix Championship Series is free to competitors. Participation is simply attending GP rounds scheduled per the calendar.
