The NSW AGM got under way at 1630, once we got Kerry out of the shower,. See other report for discussion & meeting contents.

1900 Dinner on Saturday night was extremely well catered, with Lamb and Beef on the spit,  Jacket spuds & vegies, apple slice & custard, a selection of wines, etc. from Tom & Jan “The Presidents” and Dave. Mudgee serves up “good tucker” again.

Saturday 19th September

Sniper & Tactical rifle day, shot on the mini core targets at 300m with certain cross winds, 15 shooters lined up for the competition. It helps if you watch the trees on the right side of the range.

F1 Class  Shot with original sniper rifles or faithful copies.

44.01 John Lewis (.303 Sniper)
44.00 Andrew Prowse (replica 6.5x55 sniper) very close Andy .01
38.01 Dick Antcliffe (.303).

F2 Class

This was a Mudgee clean up with:

54.04 Mick Toovey
52.01 Don Mackay
31.00 Darren Pearce, best part is it was Mick's rifle.
Nnormally if you share, the owner gets done by the others.

Tactical/J Class

60.08 Robert Irving
60.07 Craig Mahoney
58.06 Mick Toovey

Very good shooting for the equipment utilised on the day.

Tactical Challenge – the “fun match”

Mini core target at 300m, unlimited rounds on the bench behind the shooter, only one round at a time to be picked up, last 30 seconds to hit the balloon, no hit = no score!

43.03 Don Mackay
40.00 Craig Mahoney
38.00 Simon Ross

Conclusion

My thanks must go to the Mudgee members who put on another great shoot and all those competitors who attended to make it all worthwhile.

Special mentions must be made for a dedicated crew who set up & ran State 2009.

In the weeks leading up to the shoot & over the three days of competition:

Mick (range clean up & general help, etc.)

Dasher (fire wood, even though we didn't use it, RO at tactical, etc.)

Nicko ( cooking the BBQ snags for lunches, etc.)

Ben (scrutineering firearms all three days, etc.)

Jeanette (putting up with Ben & me on the days of the shoot)

Tim (score board, etc.)

Don (range set up, RO & target scoring events, etc.)

Dave (range set up, toilets, targets, planning, etc.)

Rob P (chief scorer, range set up, etc.)

Tom & Jan (all the food & a superb dinner on Saturday night, etc.)

You might note a lot of “etc.” this includes (amongst other things) reminders, verbal abuse, thinking clearly, RO duties, scoring targets, checking paperwork, rubbish bin & ranges clean up after event & just being there to help.

If I have missed anyone, I apologise for the omission & hope you will remind me.

A big thank you to Lawrance Ordnance for once again sponsoring the Shoot patches.

Highland Sports
Lastly but not least Highland Sports for supplying an enormous amount of prizes which were raffled at the presentation, there will be a lot of very clean firearms in a week or two.

Our next event is the National Championships to be held at CASINO in the deep north of NSW over October 16th-18th . See our web site for details, or click on the PDF link.
