The Mudgee team once again had done the set up work well, the range, target frames and camping areas were in shape for Friday 08.30.
Despite the threat of rain on Thursday, not a drop fell during the weekend. The 89 competitors over three days were able to enjoy the Windamere Regional Shooting Complex with fine & sunny conditions for three days of shooting. |

This Years 2009 “Border War” went off without any hassles on the 6-7th of June at Casino. Both days were fine but the range was a little boggy in spots from the monsoon it received a fortnight before. |

COUNTRY DEFEATS CITY, the Friday pistol matches got under way on Range 1 about 10am, with an overcast sky. The threatened rain fell in light showers to start with and then got heavier for later details, everyone got wet, including the score sheets & equipment. A good attendance turned out, with 23 signed up for both classes of pistol across three different matches.

It is with great sadness to report that we lost Wal last Wednesday "11th Feb 2009" in an unforseen traffic accident, he was only 81 years of age.
Wed 19th Feb 2009
Wal’s funeral Was held at 2:30pm today in the west chapel at Pinegrove Cemetary, family and friends attended the funeral along with fellow shooters as well as friends from the local karate school that he was a member of.

S.S.A.A. New South Wales sponsored a Service Rifle team to contest the New Zealand Service Challenge and Charles Upham (N.Z. V.C. winner) tournaments.
